AfterThought lets you decide who should know. Once your trusted administrator confirms your passing, the people you’ve selected are notified — immediately and privately — without leaving your family with the responsibility of finding everyone.

AfterThought is designed around private preparation, recipient control, and intentional delivery. Your messages are prepared in advance for the people you choose — with release tied to a confirmed passing or the future dates you set.

Your prepared messages are intended for the recipients you designate. A confirmed passing triggers the release of messages and letters prepared for those recipients. The administrator who confirms your passing does not receive access to your recipient list or the contents of your private messages. Scheduling messages and videos for future dates is completely optional.

What is AfterThought?
AfterThought is a private preparation and delivery service. You create letters, messages, videos, and important information for people you care about, then set who receives them and what happens after a passing is confirmed or on future dates you choose.
What happens after a passing?
After a passing is confirmed through the designated administrator workflow, messages and letters prepared for each recipient can be released for them to review. Ongoing messages and videos can continue on the future dates the account holder selected before their passing.
Can I leave video messages?
Yes. Videos can be prepared for release after a passing. You can also optionally schedule videos for future dates.
What can go in the secure information vault?
The current product concept includes insurance information, final wishes, bank and account information, and documents intended for access by a designated administrator after the appropriate confirmation.
Will AfterThought work on a computer?
The website is responsive, and the application can be developed as a responsive web experience alongside mobile apps. The final production rollout will determine the supported platforms.
